Even though the last few months have been extremely stressful for myself, as well as many other people, I am thankful the Christmas is right around the corner! It is true that the final semester is the hardest semester of your life! I had three classes plus my internship, plus work on top of it all. I still had to pay bills!! Then add on the extra photo jobs I did in October. And the unfortunate break up with my long term boyfriend. As much as I know it is the right thing, it is still hard and stressful on me. I somehow am making it through and looking forward to time with my family and the traditions I have become accustomed to in the last few years.
Growing up I hated the holidays. Having to be shuffled between houses and having multiple presents at different places to open, it was all annoying to me. But I was also a teenager with a major attitude problem.
Now as a young adult I appreciate the holidays more than ever. I love spending time with the people I love, and love me, making traditions and upholding those traditions. Some of my favorite things now are not just gathering on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, but spending time with my younger cousins while they are on break from school. We go ice skating at Steinberg in Forest Park, and bowling, and sometimes if we find time we go to the movies also. For the past four or five Christmases I have been the baker of both sides of my family. I bake about five different batches of cookies that I split and take with me to all my gatherings.
Until next time! Merry Christmas ya'll!!
